We know you can run like a champ, but can you sing like one?! Join Young Involved Philadelphia (YIP), the Young Professionals of the Academy of Vocal Arts (AVA) and Philadephia Runner in July for our run to AVA to check out their space and learn more about their programs.
AVA Young Professionals is a community of young professionals based in the Greater Philadelphia area who celebrate a mutual love of music through networking and social gatherings, exclusive receptions, and cultural events.
We'll start the run at Philadelphia Runner at 16th and Sansom at 6:30 p.m. and run for a few miles ending at AVA on Spruce Street (between 19th & 20th). We'll get a tour, ask some questions and head to a nearby watering hole for drinks after. All paces welcome!
About YIP Run Club
The YIP running club is a collaboration between Young Involved Philadelphia and Philadelphia Runner with participation from partners across the city. Runners of all levels are welcome, with most runs splitting into groups for longer and shorter distance runners.
Each month the group runs 2-5 miles to an interesting place in the city (historic, public space, point of interest, etc.) for a brief 5-10 minute tour or Q & A before heading to bar in the neighborhood for post-run camaraderie.
The goal of the YIP running club is to provide a new avenue for conversation and networking while exploring interesting locations throughout Philadelphia (and hey, you get a workout in too).
About AVA
The mission of the Academy of Vocal Arts is to be the world's premier institution for training young artists as international opera soloists. Through rigorous instruction and coaching, and by presentations of Resident Artists from around the world in concerts, oratorios, public programs and fully staged professional opera productions, the Academy will train artists with the high potential for career success while enriching lives in Philadelphia and beyond. Each year AVA resident artists are presented in four or five fully-staged opera productions accompanied by orchestra.
