Young Involved Philadelphia (YIP), in partnership with the Philadelphia Water Department (PWD), will host an educational picnic event for the public to discuss how water management interacts with green spaces.
This blanketside-chat will explore how green infrastructure addresses our combined sewer overflows AND provides many co-benefits (jobs, health, greening and beautification, raising property values). The event will emphasize the importance of public education about Philadelphia’s water history, current water infrastructure, and individuals’ connection to water. Providing environmental education and stewardship opportunities in storm drain marking, Rain Check program, and Soak It Up Adoption will allow attendees to play a positive role in the health of our waterways and watersheds.
Agenda:

11:45 Welcome from YIP and Liberty Lands
12:00 Presentation from PWD
